在藝術大學修習影像時,選擇了以影像結合舞蹈的專題,在此同時開始大量接觸表演藝術,探索的過程當中,也參加舞蹈等訓練,並開始投入表演自由工作者的行列,以火舞與印度風格的舞蹈為主要演出。
每次的訓練與舞台演出中,都需要將自己的身體發揮到極限,經年累積下,身體逐漸累積壓力與損耗,這些是無法以簡單的放鬆動作消除的,特別是在需要負重與快速動作的肌肉部位,如肩頸與腿部,腳踝等,在友人的引介下,開始嘗試練習瑜珈,希望能解決這些肌肉不平衡的問題。
一次機會中接觸到了哈達瑜珈,在前彎與延展中我感受到緊張的肌肉部位舒展開來,同時在體位法停留變換與呼吸搭配中,我感到精神與身體合一的遼闊,如同在舞蹈動作流動中的專心一致,每次的練習中體會到瑜珈對身體同時有強化與療癒兩種截然不同的影響,同時對心靈也有相當的穩定作用,期許能將體悟分享給更多人。
教學風格承自 RAMESH C.,REMESH 令我印象深刻的一段話為:「串連練習可以讓練習者快速感受到瑜珈體位法的力量與效果,但仍須適時回到哈達練習與正確使用輔具,來幫助練習者喚醒對身體的覺知。」這也是我未來教學中重要的指導方針。
目前教學課程主要以基礎瑜珈,哈達瑜珈,流動瑜珈,筋膜按摩伸展,空中療癒瑜珈,這幾年來持續不斷累積,感念同學們的教學相長。
My performing art career started from college where I chose to study dancing with an imageinmind in my image classes. I received solid dance training and started to performas a freelancedancer, mostly doing fire poi dances and India dances. I had to stretch my body to the extreme in each training and performance. Thus, over theyearsmy body had to endure accumulated pressure and damages which could not be relievedsolelyby simple relaxation exercises, not to mention my neck, shoulder, and ankles that especiallyneed to receive heavy weights and perform fast movements. Through a friend of mine, I wasintroduced to Yoga to address my muscle imbalance problems. One time I had my first encounter with hatha Yoga where my tense muscle was relaxedwhenI was bending forward and stretching. I felt my body and soul became One in a flowof bodymovements with rhythmed breath as if I were dancing freely. Through each practice, I cameto realized Yoga has both strengthening and healing effects on my body and also calms my soul. Since then, I wish to share the benefits with more and more people. My teaching style was based on RAMESH C. . REMESH once said: viniyasa makes the practitioner immediately feel the power and effects of Yoga postures. However, we still needtoget back to Hatha practice and use supporting equipment to help the practitioner’s senses awaken.” This method will be guiding principles of my future teaching career.
